‘Operation Tiger’ buzz grows as Uddhav Sena MPs go incommunicado, focus shifts to Delhi

New Delhi: New political instability seems to have gripped the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) following reports that senior leaders were unable to reach several party MPs.
Reportedly, some of the MPs even switched off their mobile phones amidst mounting speculation of internal unrest.
Uddhav Thackeray and other top leaders have resorted to calling MPs personally, according to media reports, amid growing concerns about a likely rebellion within the party.
The unfolding events have now turned the political spotlight on New Delhi, where there will be significant meetings.
This development occurs on the heels of rumors of a supposed “Operation Tiger”.
It is a political term that has started circulating, meaning an attempt to woo away MPs belonging to the Uddhav camp.
Also, to take the MPs to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction in Maharashtra.

Reportedly, many of the MPs may be in touch with leaders belonging to the ruling alliance, although there has been no formal confirmation.
What adds more drama to the situation are reports claiming that meetings may take place between Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs and Shinde faction leaders in Delhi.
It was further reported that Eknath Shinde also met some MPs in New Delhi, intensifying rumors about potential political realignments.
However, the Uddhav faction leaders themselves have vehemently denied all claims of an impending split.
Several MPs have refuted the allegations that they are being tempted into switching to a rival camp.
With the upcoming parliament session and Maharashtra politics hanging in the balance, all eyes will continue to be fixed on New Delhi, which will reveal whether the talk about the split.
