Ukraine’s president Zelensky seeks support from King Charles after heated exchange with Trump

by · KalingaTV

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is visiting London to meet King Charles and other European leaders on March 2. This comes after a tense meeting with US President Donald Trump on February 28. There, Trump scolded Zelensky for not being ready to make peace with Russia, saying he wasn’t prepared for peace talks.

Zelensky’s UK visit has already been productive. He had an audience with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and got Ukraine a $2.8 billion loan. The first installment of the loan is to be granted to Ukraine within the coming week. Zelensky was thankful to the UK and expressed that his meeting with Starmer was “meaningful” and “warm.”.

The London summit is important because it will discuss the future of the war in Ukraine. European leaders want to come up with a means of stopping the war in the nation. Yet, it is not clear if the summit will produce any meaningful solutions. Vice President JD Vance was also involved in the heated exchange between Trump and Zelensky.

King Charles will meet Zelensky, but as the monarch, he must remain neutral in international matters. While he can express humanitarian concerns, any substantial support for Ukraine must come from the UK government. Although King Charles has expressed views on environmental and immigration issues, he is expected to maintain neutrality on this matter.
