Man (30s) charged after garda injured in public order incident in Dublin

A man in his 30s was arrested following a public order incident at Abbey Street, Dublin 1, on Saturday afternoon has been charged

During the course of the incident, which occurred at around 1 pm, a member of An Garda Síochána received injuries to his arm.

He appeared before Dublin District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice on Saturday afternoon, where he was remanded in custody to appear again before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday.

Gardaí said the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.

The garda was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital for treatment.

Gardaí said garda welfare services will be put in place for the member.

Investigations are ongoing.
