Indian-origin man arrested in U.S. for allegedly choking passenger on flight
by GK Web Desk · Greater KashmirSrinagar, July 4: A 21-year-old Indian-origin man, Ishaan Sharma from Newark, has been arrested in the United States for allegedly choking a fellow passenger during a Frontier Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Miami. The incident occurred mid-air on June 30, with Sharma being taken into custody immediately after the flight landed.
Footage of the altercation has surfaced online, showing Sharma in a physical confrontation with another passenger, identified as Keanu Evans.
In court, Sharma’s lawyer offered a different version of the events, suggesting that the confrontation may have stemmed from a misunderstanding. “My client is from a religion where he was meditating. Unfortunately, the passenger behind him did not like that,” the attorney said, as quoted by a local news outlet.
As per reports Evans said the attack was entirely unprovoked. “He grabbed me by the throat while I was walking back to my seat,” Evans claimed. “He was laughing strangely and saying things like, ‘You puny, mortal man… if you challenge me, it will result in your death.’
