Ilhan Omar attacked with liquid at Minnesota town hall

New Delhi, Jan 28: Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was sprayed with an unknown liquid during a town hall meeting after an audience member used a syringe to douse her, Minneapolis police said.

The BBC reported that Omar was not injured and continued the event.

The suspect was immediately arrested, and forensic tests are underway to identify the substance.

In a post on X, Omar said she was ìokî and would not be intimidated. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey condemned the incident, saying violence and intimidation had no place in the city.
