CM Omar starts Raabita with people - Greater Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 7: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Saturday reiterated his promise of providing people-centric governance.

In a significant step toward enhancing direct communication with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, CM Omar conducted his inaugural public interaction at the CM’s Public Services and Outreach Office, christened as Raabita.

On this occasion, the CM said, “This office has been established to provide a dedicated platform for addressing public grievances and building a healthy relationship between the government and citizens.”

Fifteen delegations met the CM, each representing various social, cultural, and professional groups.

Issues discussed and brought to the notice of the CM centred around economic challenges, cultural preservation, employment concerns, and sectoral development.

Unique cultural heritage preservation also featured prominently in the discussions, with delegations advocating for initiatives to promote J&K’s rich heritage, preserve local languages, and implement social welfare programmes.

The CM listened attentively to these concerns and emphasised the need for a cohesive approach to protect the region’s unique identity.
