PM Modi pays tribute to Sahibzades at Veer Baal Diwas event in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the national programme marking Veer Baal Diwas at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, paying tribute to the supreme sacrifice and courage of the Sahibzades of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He said their valor continues to inspire the nation’s youth and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to honour India’s heroes and free the country from a colonial mindset.

Earlier, in a post on X, the Prime Minister said the day is one of reverence and remembrance, dedicated to courage, conviction and righteousness.

He recalled the unshakeable faith of Mata Gujri Ji and the enduring teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. “Veer Baal Diwas is a day of reverence, dedicated to remembering the sacrifice of the brave Sahibzades. We recall the unshakeable faith of Mata Gujri Ji and the immortal teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This day is associated with courage, conviction and righteousness. Their lives and ideals will continue to motivate people for generations,” Mr Modi said.

During the event, the Prime Minister also congratulated 20 recipients of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, praising their achievements in bravery, social service, innovation, sports, art and culture, and wishing them a bright future. Veer Baal Diwas is observed to honour the sacrifice of the Sahibzades and to inspire future generations with their courage and values.
