PM Modi calls Maha Kumbh 2025 celebration of unity, devotion in Lok Sabha address, hails collective efforts

New Delhi, Mar 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the successful organisation of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj while addressing the Lok Sabha, extending heartfelt gratitude to citizens whose collective efforts ensured its triumph. “I bow to the citizens, whose efforts led to the successful organization of the Maha Kumbh,” said the Prime Minister. He highlighted the contributions of both government officials and societal volunteers, acknowledging their dedication. PM Modi emphasized that the Maha Kumbh was not merely an event but a reflection of India’s unwavering devotion and cultural strength. “This Maha Kumbh was led by the people, driven by their resolve and inspired by their unwavering devotion,” he remarked.

The Prime Minister likened the extensive preparation required to the legendary Bhagirath’s efforts to bring the Ganga to Earth, highlighting the significance of the collective endeavour. “We have witnessed a ‘Maha Prayas’ in the organisation of the Maha Kumbh,” he noted.

Describing the Maha Kumbh as a “significant milestone that reflects the spirit of an awakened nation,” PM Modi drew parallels to historical moments of India’s resurgence, including the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya and key milestones in India’s freedom movement. “Maha Kumbh has strengthened the spirit of unity,” he affirmed. Reflecting on the event’s profound impact, the Prime Minister observed how distinctions among individuals dissolved during the festival, fostering an extraordinary sense of national unity. “In the Maha Kumbh, all differences faded away; this is India’s great strength, showing that the spirit of unity is deeply rooted within us,” he stated.

Prime Minister Modi also emphasised the role of youth in upholding India’s cultural heritage. “The spirit of connecting with faith and heritage is the greatest asset of today’s India,” he said, acknowledging the pride young Indians now exhibit in their traditions.

PM Modi encouraged the nation to build on the inspirations drawn from the Maha Kumbh, particularly by promoting river festivals to enhance awareness of water conservation and ecological balance. Expressing confidence in the country’s collective resolve, he stated that the Maha Kumbh’s legacy would serve as a catalyst for achieving India’s aspirations. “The spirit of unity witnessed at the Maha Kumbh will inspire us to achieve our national goals,” he declared.
