JCO among three soldiers wounded in ongoing Kulgam encounter
by GK Web Desk · Greater KashmirKulgam, Sept 08: Three Army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were injured in an ongoing encounter with terrorists in the Gudar forest area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday.
Officials said that a JCO was the first to sustain injuries during the exchange of fire. Two more Army personnel were later wounded in the fierce gunfight. All the injured have been evacuated to hospital for treatment.
Security forces confirmed that one terrorist has been killed so far, while the operation remains active.
The encounter broke out after a joint team of the Army, Police, and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation based on specific intelligence inputs about terrorist presence in the forested area.
Gunfire exchanges are continuing as forces attempt to neutralize the remaining terrorists. Further details are awaited. (KNC)
