FICCI J&K Council condemns Pahalgam terror attack
by GK NEWS SERVICE · Greater KashmirSrinagar, Apr 25: The FICCI Jammu and Kashmir State Council has expressed deep anguish and outrage over the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that targeted innocent tourists. The Council has condemned this horrific act as a direct assault on peace, hospitality, and the socio-economic progress of the Union Territory.
In a statement, Mushtaq Ahmed Burza, Chairman, FICCI J&K State Council described the attack as “a reprehensible act of cowardice that has shaken us all.” He emphasised that targeting innocent civilians, especially visitors who come to experience Kashmir’s beauty and warmth, is unacceptable. “As Chairman of FICCI J&K, I stand in solidarity with the families of the victims and urge the security agencies to act decisively. We will not allow fear to dictate our narrative. Jammu & Kashmir will continue to rise, resilient and united,” Burza affirmed.
MK Trisal, Head of the IT/ITES Committee, noted that this brutal attack targets not just lives but progress itself. “The IT and technology ecosystem in Kashmir thrives on the spirit of connectivity, growth, and innovation. We remain committed to building a digitally empowered and peaceful society, where such regressive forces find no place. Our focus remains on job creation, skill development, and enabling a safe digital future for our youth,” he stated.
Chander Parkash Gupta, Head of the Tourism Committee, described the attack as deeply personal to the tourism fraternity. “It aims to instill fear among travelers and damage our reputation as a peaceful destination. But we assure all visitors and partners that Kashmir remains safe, and our hospitality remains stronger than ever. We are working with stakeholders to ensure safety, strengthen confidence, and promote Kashmir’s unmatched cultural and natural heritage,” Gupta said.
Lalit Mahajan, Head of the MSME Committee, highlighted the impact on local businesses: “The MSME sector, which forms the economic backbone of our region, is deeply impacted by such acts of terror. We strongly condemn this attack, and we express solidarity with the business community in Pahalgam and beyond. Let this be a reminder of the importance of building resilient, secure, and economically strong societies that cannot be shaken by violence.”
Representing the manufacturing sector, Kaushal Kumar Gupta, Head of the Manufacturing Committee, stated, “The manufacturing sector in Jammu and Kashmir is steadily growing, and peace is its most vital raw material. We condemn the Pahalgam attack and stress that violence will never overpower our determination to create jobs, build industries, and transform the economic landscape of the region. Let us channel our grief into building, producing, and progressing.”
