New Delhi, Nov 02: At least nine people have sustained life-threatening injuries following a mass stabbing on a train in Cambridgeshire, the BBC reports. According to Cambridgeshire Police, as reported by BBC, officers received reports around 19:39 local time that multiple passengers had been stabbed on board a train. The train, which was the 18:25 service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross, was stopped at Huntingdon station, where armed police boarded and arrested two men.

The East of England Ambulance Service confirmed to BBC that several people were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The incident has caused major disruptions to rail services across the region and fear amongst the traavellers.

An eyewitness told the BBC that panic broke out in one of the carriages when a man shouted, “They’ve got a knife, run,” before collapsing with a bleeding arm.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the attack as “deeply concerning” and said the government was monitoring the situation closely. He urged the public to follow the advice of local authorities as investigations continue. Emergency services remain at the scene, and the motive for the attack is yet to be determined, police said.
