Air India pilot arrested last week at Vancouver airport before flight
by The Canadian Press · CityNewsRICHMOND — Vancouver International Airport says an Air India pilot was arrested as he was preparing for a flight last week.
Richmond RCMP did not identify the airline but say a pilot was arrested on Dec. 23 after a “report of concern” involving an airline crew member.
Police and an airport spokeswoman say the flight was delayed for several hours but departed safely that afternoon.
RCMP say an investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released.
The spokeswoman for the airport says the pilot had been preparing for Air India’s scheduled daily flight from Vancouver to Delhi.
Neither Air India nor Transport Canada immediately responded to requests for comment about the incident.
More coming.
