OTTAWA — In the end, the election suspense in Ottawa was short-lived and Liberals can thank Quebec separatists for that.

Mere hours after Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said he would attempt to trigger an election by putting forward a motion of non-confidence in the House of Commons, Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet told reporters his party will not support it.
