US: No Survivors In Passenger Jet And Army Helicopter Crash
by Article by Suman M · Gulte.comNo one is believed to have survived the midair collision between an American Airlines jet place and a US Army Black Hawk Helicopter last night in the Washington DC area.
So far, 28 bodies have been found. The passenger jet was carrying 64 people while three soldiers were on the helicopter.
Officials are confident they will recover the bodies of those killed in the collision. There were several Figure skating athletes on the passenger jet. It is believed that two world-champion Russian figure skaters were on the plane.
According to the authorities, the passenger jet involved in the collision took off without any operational issues.
The American Airlines flight traveling from Wichita, Kansas collided with the military chopper while approaching runway 33 at the DC airport around 9 pm. This is the deadliest US crash since 2009.
