LIVE: Developments at Senate as Dela Rosa faces arrest

MANILA, Philippines (First published May 13, 7:30 p.m.) — The Senate complex since Monday, May 11, has became a refuge for Sen. Bato dela Rosa, who is fearing and refusing arrest under an International Criminal Court warrant.

Dela Rosa, who helped a power grab in the upper chamber of Congress to install now Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano, has been placed under the Senate's protective custody.

Gunshots were heard being fired on Wednesday night, but state forces have insisted that they were not serving a warrant and that they were not behind the shooting.

Meanwhile, stacks of copies of the Articles of Impeachment stating the charges against Vice President Sara Duterte had arrived for the Senate to convene "forthwith" as a trial court, as required under the Constitution.
