Sachin Tendulkar has categorically denied reports of being in the race to become the next BCCI president

Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has categorically denied being in the race to become the next BCCI president. Unverified reports had earlier claimed that the Master Blaster was in the running to take up the administrative role. However, SRT Sports Management, the firm representing Tendulkar, has stated that no such developments have taken place, putting the rumours to rest.

Sachin not in race to become BCCI prez

In a statement, SRT Sports Management said that it has come to light that there were rumours being circulated on Sachin being considered or nominated for the president of BCCI. Denying these reports, the statement asked everyone to refrain from spreading any such information.

“It has come to our attention that certain reports and rumours have been circulating regarding Mr. Sachin Tendulkar being considered, or nominated, for the position of President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). We wish to categorically state that no such development has taken place. We urge all concerned to refrain from giving credence to unfounded speculations,” the statement read.

The election of the office bearers will be held on September 28 during the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Polls will take place to elect a new president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer, one member of the Apex Council, and two members of the Governing Council.
