US updates: Trump in Saudi Arabia on Middle East trip

US President Donald Trump landed in Saudi Arabia for a major trip of his second term in office. Massive arms deals and peace talks are scheduled. DW has the latest.

US President Donald Trump will travel to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in his first trip to the Middle East since returning to the White House. 

Trump is expected to sign major arms deals worth up to $1 trillion (€900 billion) during the trip.

Before he even started, questions were raised about the legality of a luxury airliner that the government of Qatar is gifting Trump.

Ethics watchdogs have cried foul over the "flying palace," calling it a clear conflict of interest.
