EOCO Honors Former and Current Leaders for Distinguished Service

The Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) has recognized several former and current heads of the organization for their exemplary contributions during a closing ceremony of a conference for Regional Directors. The EOCO’s Welfare Department expressed gratitude to these leaders for their pivotal roles in shaping the agency.

Among the honorees were COP (retired) Frank Adu Poku, Mr. Justice Yao Adegbe Tsar, and COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah (Mrs.), the current Executive Director, who received special acknowledgment for her outstanding leadership.

In a heartfelt citation, EOCO staff commended Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah for spearheading transformative initiatives, particularly the successful implementation of the Scheme of Service, which guides the career progression of EOCO staff. This framework has been vital in motivating officers and providing a clear path for advancement.

“This Scheme of Service has given us a roadmap for our careers,” an EOCO officer stated, highlighting its impact on personal and professional growth within the organization.

The citation also praised her commitment to meritocracy, noting that promotions under her leadership are based on performance, which has significantly boosted morale among staff. “She is not just a leader but a mentor who recognizes talent and hard work,” remarked another officer.

Additionally, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has played a crucial role in legislative reforms to enhance EOCO’s operational efficiency, including contributions to a Repeal Bill aimed at streamlining the agency’s activities. Her strategic thinking has helped shape a revised Human Resource Policy and secure better salary structures for officers, reflecting her dedication to staff welfare.

The establishment of EOCO’s Welfare Unit, focusing on the overall well-being of staff, is another significant achievement attributed to her leadership. “Maame Yaa Tiwaa is not just interested in results; she is also deeply committed to the welfare of the people behind those results,” a staff member emphasized.

During the ceremony, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah expressed her gratitude, stating, “When I first heard about a program to celebrate former Executive Directors, I thought I was coming to honor others. I had no idea I would be celebrated in such a monumental way. Your unwavering support motivates me to give my very best to this institution.”
