Hurricane Melissa hits Cuba after devastating Jamaica

After battering Jamaica on October 28 and leaving hundreds of thousands there without electricity, Hurricane Melissa touched down in Cuba. According to President Miguel Díaz-Canel, more than 700,000 people have been evacuated to safer areas as the hurricane approached, and a "state of alert" was declared in six eastern provinces.
