SINGAPORE: Singapore will raise the salaries of its political appointment holders and the allowances of members of parliament following a review of the political salary framework, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Coordinating Minister for Public Services Chan Chun Sing announced on Tuesday (Sep 8).

The government accepted the independent committee’s recommendations, but existing political officeholders will not immediately move to the new salary benchmarks.
