Mumbai News: At least seven people, including three children, were killed after a fire broke out in a double-storey shop-cum-residential structure in Maharashtra's Mumbai on Sunday morning. The blaze started at 5.20 am at Siddharth Colony in the Chembur area, according to an official of a fire department. 

The ground floor of the structure was reportedly used as a shop and the upper floor as a residence. Officials told PTI that the blaze was confined to the electric wiring and installations in the shop on the ground floor and spread to the upper floor.

It was a 'level-one' fire, officials said. 

"Seven people including three children died after a fire broke out at a shop in Chembur around 5 am today," Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

They were taken to the Rajawadi Hospital where all of them were declared brought dead.

The five of the seven deceased were identified as Paris Gupta (7), Manju Prem Gupta (30), Anita Gupta (39), Prem Gupta (30) and Narendra Gupta (10). The cause of the blaze was not yet known.
