A First Information Report (FIR) filed at Ganeshpeth Police Station in connection with the violence in Nagpur has revealed that one of the accused allegedly inappropriately touched the uniform and body of an on-duty woman police official during the incident.

However, there are no reports yet to confirm the accused's identity or saying whether he was apprehended by the cops.
Meanwhile, the city remains under tight security with curfew in place across 11 police station areas for the second consecutive day to maintain law and order in the area.

What Happened On March 17 In Nagpur
The development comes after violence broke out in central Nagpur's Chitnis Park in Mahal area on Monday around 7:30 PM between two groups in Maharashtra's Nagpur over demands of the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, PTI reported.
The clashes turned violent after rumours were spread that a holy book of Muslim community was burnt during the agitation organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal at Mahal Gate.
As the other community retaliated, stones were hurled at police personnel, including three DCPs (deputy commissioners of police), resulting in injuries. Several houses and vehicles were also vandalised.
Following the clashes, a complaint was lodged against the protesters, accusing them of hurting the religious sentiments of a community. Based on this, an FIR was registered against the functionaries of VHP and Bajrang Dal, an official of Ganeshpeth police station told PTI.
However, the VHP on Tuesday said it won't tolerate any attempts to glorify Aurangzeb and went on to claim the Nagpur violence was pre-planned. VHP Vidarbha Prant Sah Mantri Devesh Mishra also rubbished claims of a 'chadar' with holy inscriptions being burnt during protests, PTI reported.
More than 50 persons have been taken into custody by police in connection with the violence.
