The feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump escalated as the tech billionaire continued his attack on Donald Trump, saying that without his support Trump would have lost the US Presidential election. The Tesla CEO hit back at Trump after the US President lashed out on him on Thursday, expressing disappointment on the tech billionaire's public opposition to his tax-cut and spending bill.

"Look, Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore," Trump said in the Oval Office, reacting to Musk's criticism. "He said the most beautiful things about me, and he hasn't said bad about me personally, but I'm sure that'll be next. But I'm, I'm very disappointed in Elon. I've helped Elon a lot."

As Trump spoke, Musk posted a series of responses on his social media site X, where e wrote, "Without me, Trump would have lost the election. Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate." "Such ingratitude," he remarked.

In another post on X on June 5, Musk posted a poll with the question "Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle?"

Musk, who reportedly spent nearly $300 million in the 2024 election in support of Trump and other Republican candidates, began slamming Trump's "big, beautiful bill" on Tuesday, calling it a "disgusting abomination" that would increase the federal deficit. He also claimed that that the bill was "never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night".

Meanwhile, Trump had claimed that the fallout with his ally Musk was a result of the bill's rollback of tax credits for electric vehicles. To this, the billionaire replied, "whatever," urging that the government remove the "mountain of disgusting pork in the bill".

Musk's last appearance at the White House was a week ago when he ended his government role as the head of Department of Government Efficiency.
