2 Suspected ISIS Operatives Arrested in Delhi for Planning Terror Attack
by Northlines · NorthlinesNew Delhi, Oct 24: The Delhi Police on Friday arrested two suspected ISIS operatives who were allegedly planning a terror attack in a crowded area of the national capital, officials said.
The suspects, both named Adnan and residents of Bhopal, were arrested following a coordinated operation between Delhi and Madhya Pradesh police, based on specific intelligence inputs, a senior officer said.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were associated with the ISIS and were in the final stages of planning a major strike in Delhi,” the officer stated.
Police have seized electronic devices and incriminating materials from their possession. The two are currently being interrogated to uncover details about their network, associates, and targets, officials added.
“The arrests have averted a possible terror attack in Delhi,” the officer confirmed, adding that further investigations are underway to determine if the suspects had any foreign links or local collaborators. (Agencies)
