10,000 Special Guests Invited for 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path

New Delhi: The Defence Ministry on Monday said that around 10,000 special guests have been invited to witness the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi this year.

The ministry said the invitees include individuals who have undertaken exemplary work in income and employment generation, innovators, start-ups, self-help groups and top performers under various government initiatives. The objective, it said, is to honour their contributions to nation-building and to enhance Jan Bhagidari in events of national importance.

According to the Defence Ministry, the special guests also include winners of the World Para Athletics Championship, transgender persons and beggars rehabilitated under the PM SMILE scheme, as well as farmers practising natural farming, among others.

The ministry said the initiative reflects the government’s effort to recognise grassroots contributions and promote wider public participation in national celebrations. (Agencies)
