IndiGo Flight Hits Pole While Parking At Srinagar Airport

SRINAGAR, Sep 4: An IndiGo flight from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar hit a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while being parked at Srinagar airport on Friday morning, damaging the aircraft but leaving all passengers and crew members uninjured.

Flight 6E 225 (VT-NOG) came into contact with the VDGS pole while being positioned at Bay No. 6 at around 9.02 am, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) said in a statement.

“All passengers and crew members are safe, and no injuries have been reported,” the AAI said, adding that passengers and crew members safely deboarded the aircraft using manual stairs.

The aircraft suffered damage in the incident, while authorities initiated the required procedures to assess the circumstances surrounding the occurrence.

Officials said the incident would be examined by the competent authorities in accordance with established procedures. The exact circumstances and cause of the incident will be determined after completion of the inquiry.

No conclusion has been drawn regarding the cause of the incident at this stage, officials said.

Meanwhile, airport operations continued normally following the incident, with both arrivals and departures operating as per schedule.

The incident occurred during the aircraft’s parking process after its arrival from Navi Mumbai, with no injuries reported among those onboard. (Agencies)
