Amritsar: Explosion outside Thakur Dwar Temple causes panic, no injuries reported

Amritsar: An explosion outside the Thakur Dwar temple in Amritsar caused significant damage to the temple’s walls and shattered its window panes, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, triggered panic among residents of the Khandwala area.

CCTV footage from the scene shows two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle arriving at the temple. After waiting briefly, one of the men threw an explosive device towards the temple before both suspects fled the area.

Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar confirmed that the police were alerted to the blast around 2 am by the temple priest. Bhullar and other senior officials quickly arrived at the scene, and efforts are now underway to apprehend the suspects.

A forensic team has collected evidence from the blast site, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Bhullar assured that the police are working diligently to trace and arrest the culprits.

This explosion follows a series of similar incidents in the past four months, with previous blasts targeting police posts in Amritsar and Gurdaspur.
