PoJK Woman Apprehended After Crossing LoC into Poonch
by Northlines · NorthlinesJammu, Dec 17: Army troops on Tuesday apprehended a Pakistani woman who crossed the Line of Control into Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district after reportedly fleeing her home in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir following an argument with her father, officials said on Wednesday.
The woman, identified as 35-year-old Shehnaz Akhtar from the Gimma area of Kotli district in PoJK, was apprehended from the Dabbi forward area of the Balakote sector, officials said.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that she had an argument with her father and subsequently moved towards the LoC before crossing into Indian territory, where she was intercepted by an Army unit.
Officials said the woman has not yet been handed over to the police and further procedures are underway. (Agencies)
