Congress Names V D Satheesan as Kerala Chief Minister

NEW DELHI, May 13: The Congress on Thursday announced V. D. Satheesan as the next Chief Minister of Kerala, ending days of speculation over the leadership choice.

The decision was declared at a press conference by Deepa Dasmunshi, AICC in-charge of Kerala, along with central observers Ajay Maken and Mukul Wasnik.

Satheesan emerged as the consensus candidate among the party’s top leadership, ahead of other contenders including K. C. Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala. (Agencies)
