J&K: JCO Killed in Firing Incident in Samba Military Camp

Jammu, Dec 24: A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army was killed in a firing incident inside a military camp in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred late Tuesday night while the officer was on duty. He sustained a gunshot wound and later succumbed to his injuries, officials said.

The defence spokesperson clarified that a terror angle has been ruled out at this stage.

“The incident is under investigation and further details will be shared as facts are established,” the spokesperson added. (Agencies)
