Nowgam Blast: LG Sinha Orders Probe; Expresses Anguish Over Loss of Lives

Jammu, Nov 15: Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday ordered a probe into the accidental blast at Nowgam police station, which killed nine people and injured 32 others.

In a post on X, Sinha said he had directed authorities to ascertain the exact cause of the explosion, which occurred late Friday night while explosives recovered from a terror module were being processed.

The L-G expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, offering condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured. “Deeply anguished by the loss of precious lives due to the extremely tragic accidental blast… My condolences to the bereaved families,” he wrote.

Sinha said the administration stands in full solidarity with the families of the deceased and the injured, adding that all possible assistance is being extended to those affected by the incident. (Agencies)
