BHUBANESWAR: A day ahead of the Odisha DGP conference at Bhubaneswar, Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on Thursday issued a message threatening to disrupt the pan-India meet which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Security Advisor Ajit Doval besides hosts of top security officials. In the video, Pannun, who is designated as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), challenged Prime Minister Modi to visit the Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar and meet with devotees. He also called on Naxals, Maoists, and Kashmiri militants to join the protest efforts, claiming that the DGP conference would focus on planning the killing of pro-Khalistani Sikhs, Kashmiri fighters, Naxals, and Maoists.

The conference, which will be held from November 30 to December 1, will bring together over 200 senior security officials, including those from NIA, CRPF, BSF, NSG, IB, and CISF. The meeting will be chaired by Amit Shah and is expected to cover matters related to national security.

Authorities have already taken heightened security measures in Bhubaneswar ahead of the high-profile event. Several areas in the city have been declared no-fly zones, and drone activities have been banned. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar on Friday around 4:15 pm, where he will first visit the Biju Patnaik International Airport before attending a meeting at the BJP office and later proceeding to Raj Bhawan.

The threat has intensified security in the city, with officials working to ensure that the conference and accompanying events take place without incident. Meanwhile, Odisha is also preparing for several other important events, including the ongoing winter session of the State Assembly and the upcoming Indian Navy Day celebrations in Puri, which will be attended by President Droupadi Murmu on December 4.
