New Delhi: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday carried out searches at nine locations across multiple states as part of an investigation into a terror-gangster syndicate involved in smuggling arms and ammunition into India. The raids targeted suspects linked to the infamous Davinder Bambiha gang, known for its violent criminal activities. The locations searched included districts in Haryana (Palwal, Faridabad, and Gurugram), Punjab (Jalandhar), and Uttar Pradesh (Mathura).

During the operation, the NIA seized incriminating materials, including mobile devices, banking records, and property documents. The agency’s investigation, which is ongoing, focuses on a nexus between terror outfits and criminal gangs, working together to smuggle terrorist-related items like firearms, explosives, and narcotics into India. The NIA’s efforts aim to dismantle these networks, which are also believed to be raising funds for terrorist activities within the country.

The Bambiha gang, whose leader was killed in a 2016 police encounter, is known to be in rivalry with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This raid is part of a broader NIA crackdown on such criminal-terror collaborations.
