J&K: Three Held While Trying To Exfiltrate To PoJK
by Northlines · NorthlinesSRINAGAR, May 31: Three persons, including a former Territorial Army jawan, were apprehended by the Army while allegedly attempting to cross the Line of Control (LoC) into Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) in the Uri sector of Baramulla district, officials said on Sunday.
The trio, all residents of Sopore, were intercepted by Army personnel on Saturday night while trying to exfiltrate through the Hathlanga-Nambla axis along the LoC, officials said.
Security agencies have taken the three into custody and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances behind the attempted crossing.
In a separate incident, Army personnel apprehended a resident of PoJK who allegedly crossed the LoC into Jammu and Kashmir through the Silikote area of Uri.
The individual, identified as Zeeshan Mir from Muzaffarabad, reportedly told authorities that he had crossed into Kashmir to meet his girlfriend residing in Tileai village of Uri.
Officials said both Mir and the woman are being questioned by security agencies, while further details regarding the case are awaited. (Agencies)
