GURUGRAM, Jan 9: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday launched a national improvised explosive device (IED) data management platform developed by the National Security Guard (NSG) to strengthen counter-terror and security operations across the country.

The platform, housed at the NSG garrison in Manesar, was inaugurated by the Union Home Minister through a video conferencing link. Officials said the system is designed to collect, collate and analyse IED-related data from across India and share actionable intelligence with various security agencies.

The AI-enabled database will also identify and map “signature linkages” between different bomb blast incidents, enabling agencies to detect patterns, improve investigations and enhance preventive measures against IED-related threats. (Agencies)
