Delhi Blast: 2 Al Falah University Doctors Among 3 Detained in Terror Module Probe

by · Northlines

New Delhi: Delhi Police has detained three individuals, including two doctors from Haryana’s Al Falah University, for their suspected links to those involved in the car blast near the Red Fort, officials said on Saturday.

The detentions followed coordinated raids carried out on Friday night by the Delhi Police Special Cell and central agencies in Dhauj, Nuh and adjoining areas of Haryana. Sources said the Special Cell, assisted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), picked up two doctors — Mohammad and Mustakim — from Nuh. Both were reportedly in touch with Dr Muzammil Ganaie, arrested earlier in connection with the probe into a “white-collar” terror module, and were also close friends of Dr Umar Nabi, who was driving the car that exploded.

According to officials, initial questioning revealed that one of the detained doctors was in Delhi on the day of the blast, having come to appear for an interview at AIIMS. Investigators are now probing the extent of their interactions with Dr Muzammil and whether they played any role in the conspiracy.

In a parallel raid in Nuh, agencies detained another man identified as Dinesh alias ‘Dabbu’ for allegedly selling fertilisers without a licence. Officials said the module had earlier pooled ₹26 lakh, spending ₹3 lakh to procure NPK fertiliser, commonly used in making IEDs, and are now investigating whether Dinesh supplied the material.

Separately, officials confirmed that Dr Shaheen Sayeed, another Al Falah University doctor arrested in the case, had recently applied for a passport. Police verification was conducted on November 3 at the university hostel, where officers also photographed her as part of standard procedure. Agencies are examining whether the application is linked to the ongoing probe. (Agencies)
