Coronation Street Tina McIntyre 'to return from dead' as fans 'work out' shock twist
by Joe Crutchley · PlymouthLiveCoronation Street viewers are speculating that Tina McIntyre, played by Michelle Keegan, might be making a surprising comeback from the grave.
The popular barmaid first graced our screens in 2008 and quickly became a fan favourite, playing a key role in numerous major storylines during her time on the cobbles. From shocking affairs to enduring disputes, Tina's stint in Weatherfield was filled with drama.
However, after five years on the iconic cobbles, she met a tragic end in 2014 when she was pushed off a balcony. Although she initially survived the fall, her character was later beaten to death with a metal pole by Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis), leading to his imprisonment.
Now, viewers are convinced that a 'return from the dead' plot twist is on the horizon for Tina, which would undoubtedly thrill fans. This week on the cobbles, Rob made an unexpected return from Highfield Prison.
His son Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) visited him to persuade him to donate a kidney to his sister Carla Connor (Alison King), reports Lancs Live.
Adding fuel to the speculation, the soap has recently resurrected several deceased characters, typically as part of a hallucination. At the end of 2024, serial killer Richard Hillman (Brian Capron) reappeared as part of Gail Platt's (Helen Worth) exit storyline.
Furthermore, it was recently confirmed that Harry Visinoni will return to the soap to reprise his role as Seb Franklin, who was killed off in 2021. His return is set to air next week.
With Rob reintegrating into the fabric of the soap and the rising trend of deceased characters making a comeback, devoted viewers are speculating that Tinas reappearance is imminent.
A member on a Coronation Street fan Facebook group speculated: "Hear me out but what if Tina also comes back and returns from the dead? Richard returned for Gail, Seb is returning soon and so did Mason."
Echoing the sentiment, another fan added: "Also, it makes perfect timing with Rob back on the scene! " A third supporter suggested: "Carla could hallucinate her maybe?" Meanwhile, another enthusiastic follower expressed desire for her return: "Manifesting a Tina return!"
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
