US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Beijing on Thursday (May 14) for a two-day summit, with stability in bilateral ties a key goal.
According to the White House, Trump and Xi agreed that the Strait of Hormuz "must remain open". They also discussed the flow of fentanyl precursors and China’s purchases of US agricultural products.
During his speech at the evening state banquet, Trump also extended an invitation to Xi to visit the White House in September.
