Gunmen kidnap Kebbi Deputy Speaker, Bagudu
by Matthew Atungwu · Daily PostUnidentified gunmen have abducted the Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Samaila Bagudu, in his hometown in Bagudu Local Government Area of the state.
The criminals were said to have stormed Bagudu town late Friday, firing sporadically to create panic.
The Deputy Speaker was reportedly whisked away shortly after he concluded his prayers and was returning home from the mosque.
The Chief Ptess Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, Ahmed Idris, confirmed the incident.
Idrissaid security agencies had been alerted and efforts were ongoing to secure the the release of the state lawmaker.
As of the time of filing this report, efforts to obtain further details from the Kebbi State Police Command on the incident proved abortive.
