Wike vs APC Govs: Tinubu now on tight corners – Reuben Abati
by Matthew Atungwu · Daily PostArise News anchor, Reuben Abati, says President Bola Tinubu is currently in a tight corner following the political cold war between the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister, Nyesom Wike, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, governors.
Abati made this assertion on Wednesday on Arise Television’s Morning Show, 24 hours after Wike blasted the APC governors on national television.
Wike had described the APC governors as “politically lazy” after they opposed his Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Reacting, Abati said, “Now it’s President Tinubu that has been put on the spot. He is faced with a choice. Is he going to choose APC governors, or is he going to choose Wike?

“The President is in a tight situation. Will the President take the step of coming out publicly to say, ‘I stand by the APC governors,’ or will he say he will stand with his machinery (Wike)?
“The danger here, therefore, particularly from the northern part of the country, where the governors of the North are under pressure from communities and anti-Tinubu forces in the North, is that they can just collect money from the President and they will do nothing.
“And if anything goes wrong, they will turn around and say, ‘Well, yes, Wike says he will deliver the presidency.'”
