Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has approved the appointment of six new Permanent Secretaries.
The appointments were announced on Friday in a statement issued by the Head of Service, Mr. Iskeel Saka.

According to Saka, the appointments were made to fill vacancies created by the statutory retirement of former Permanent Secretaries.

“The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are Dr. Solomon Oluseyi Sokunbi, Mr. Abiodun Oladunjoye Akinwunmi, Mr. Adedeji Akanbi Sowunmi, Mr. Olumide Olusola Ogunbo, Mr. Dolamu Isaiah Idowu-Agida and Tpl. Musinat Abiola Ayodele,” the statement revealed.

The Head of Service said the appointments were made in line with Section 208(c) of the 1999 Constitution, following what he described as careful consideration of merit, professionalism and inclusiveness.

He explained that all six appointees successfully completed the Ogun State Pipeline Leadership Development Programme, which is a mandatory requirement for appointment into the state’s highest public service leadership positions, including the office of Permanent Secretary.

Saka said the appointments reflect Governor Abiodun’s commitment to building a more effective, responsive and result-oriented Civil/Public Service.

He added that the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries had been directed to demonstrate exemplary leadership, integrity, dedication and selfless service in carrying out their responsibilities.

The statement added that the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are expected to play key roles in advancing ongoing reforms within the Ogun State Civil/Public Service and help improve service delivery for the benefit of residents.

Governor Dapo Abiodun is expected to inaugurate the new Permanent Secretaries on a date that will be communicated later.
