Bandits kill five, injure four in Sokoto community
by Nana Ismail · Daily PostBandits have reportedly invaded Girkau community in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing five residents and injuring four others.
According to a report by Bakatsine on X, the attackers spent several hours in the community during the invasion, leaving residents with nowhere safe to seek shelter.
“Five residents were killed and four others injured, while a large number of cattle were rustled,” the report stated.
The prolonged presence of the bandits has raised concerns about the security situation in Kebbe LGA, with calls for security agencies to provide urgent assistance to Girkau and nearby communities.

The incident comes only days after bandits reportedly imposed a N40 million levy on residents of Kebbe town on Tuesday afternoon.
The two incidents have heightened concerns over the growing pressure being placed on communities across Kebbe LGA by armed groups.
