Rainbow Coalition: Gov Fintiri meets Wike amid FCT Minister’s face-off with APC governors
by Ochogwu Sunday · Daily PostGovernor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State on Monday met with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, disclosed the meeting in a post on his official X handle, where he shared photographs from the meeting.
“Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri was in Port Harcourt to see Nyerisi,” Olayinka captioned the photos.
The meeting comes amid the ongoing political differences between Wike and the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors’ Forum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

DAILY POST reports that the disagreement intensified after the APC Governors’ Forum, led by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, distanced itself from the Rainbow Coalition being championed by Wike.
The development has reportedly divided the governors, with some appearing sympathetic to Wike’s coalition efforts, while others have maintained that the coalition could undermine the APC’s electoral interests ahead of the 2027 elections.
President Bola Tinubu is expected to broker peace between the warring political leaders soon.
