Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has condemned the abduction of 25 female students from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School, GGCSS, Maga, in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

In a message from Saudi Arabia, where he is performing the lesser Hajj, Aliyu described the attack as “unfortunate and inhuman,” stressing that no society should allow schoolchildren to be targeted by criminals.

He expressed solidarity with the Kebbi State Government and prayed for the safe return of the abducted girls.

“It is sad and heart-touching when innocent people, especially female students, are abducted,” he said.

Aliyu urged residents to support rescue efforts through vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities. He also called for intensified prayers as security agencies work to trace the victims.

The governor further appealed for stronger collaboration between federal and state authorities to curb banditry and other violent crimes in the North-West.
