by Eoghan Dalton, https://www.thejournal.ie/author/eoghan-dalton/ · TheJournal.ieUK POLICE HAVE arrested four people have been arrested as part of a Counter Terrorism Policing investigation into suspected National Security Act offences in connection with Iran.
The investigation relates to “suspected surveillance of locations and individuals linked to the Jewish community” in the London area, a Met spokesperson said in a statement released this morning.
The men were arrested this morning on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service, contrary to section 3 of the National Security Act, 2023.
The “country to which the investigation relates is Iran”, according to the UK Met police, with the arrests taking place amid the US-Israel war against Iran.

Detectives arrested the men – one Iranian and three dual British/Iranian nationals – shortly after 1am at addresses in Barnet and Watford as part of a pre-planned operation. The men are aged 40, 52, 55 and 22.
A further six men were arrested on assisting the youngest man, who was arrested at an address in Harrow, a town in the greater London area.
Six other men – aged in their 20s to 40s – were arrested at the same location in Harrow on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All 10 men have been taken into custody.
Commander Helen Flanagan, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, said today’s arrests are part of a long-running investigation and part of our ongoing work to “disrupt malign activity” where it’s suspected.
“We understand the public may be concerned, in particular the Jewish community, and as always, I would ask them to remain vigilant and if they see or hear anything that concerns them, then to contact us,” Flanagan said.
