Suspect to appear in court charged in connection with 2010 Limerick murder of Lee Slattery

The victim was found in a shallow grave in the Delmege House estate near Moyross in Limerick some 15 years ago.
In recent days a number of people were arrested and earlier today gardaí were given permission to charge a man in connection with the murder.

Lee Slattery’s remains were found after father was told where his son’s body was buried. When the remains were exhumed it was determined he had been beaten and shot.
The suspect, who was just 17 at the time of the killing, was arrested on Monday morning and taken for questioning to a Garda station in Limerick. He had recently moved back to the area.
A garda statement said: “The male in his 30s, arrested on Monday 15 September 2025 as part of an ongoing investigation into the murder of Lee Slattery (25), whose body was discovered in the Delmege House estate near Moyross, Limerick, in May, 2010, has been charged and is due to appear in front of the Limerick District Court this afternoon at 3pm, Wednesday 17th September 2025.
“Two males and a female in their 30s remain detained at Garda Stations in the Southern Region. Investigations are ongoing.”
