Shalibanda police station of the Hyderabad Commissionerate has been recognised as the eight best police station in the country by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) during the ongoing DGP/IGP conference.

The award highlights the station’s outstanding performance in various aspects, including crime prevention, investigation, community policing, and overall efficiency.

Director General of Police Jitender took to X (formerly Twitter) and congratulated the Hyderabad City police headed by Commissioner C.V. Anand.

Speaking to The Hindu, Commissioner Anand said, “We are delighted! Despite the constant pressure of additional duties including bandobasts, we try to maintain the station house routine and work parameters. I would like to appreciate the Station House Officer S. Ravi Kumar and his team for this achievement.”

Other stations in the city police are not far and we look forward to more police stations stepping up to make it to this list in the coming years, he added.

The last time, a city police station was similarly ranked was in 2018 when the Panjagutta PS was named the second best in the country.
