In the aftermath of the terror attack in Pahalgam, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu voiced strong support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, urging citizens across the country to stand united behind the Centre’s efforts to tackle terrorism.

Mr. Naidu released a book titled ‘Mindset Shift’ penned by Sharani Ponguru, daughter of Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, here on Thursday. He handed over the first copy to actor Chiranjeevi.

The meeting observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

On the occasion, Mr. Naidu said that the terror attack in Pahalgam must be seen not just as an assault on national security, but also as a deliberate attempt to disrupt India’s rising economic trajectory. ‘‘This attack comes at a time when India is gaining global attention for its economic resurgence. India has embarked on the Viksit Bharat 2047 mission, a strategic vision to transform the country into a fully developed nation by the 100th year of Independence,’‘ he said.

Under the leadership of Mr. Modi, during the last 11 years, India emerged as the fifth-largest economy in the world from the 10th-largest economy. In the next few years, India was set to become the third-largest economy, and would occupy the first or second place. ‘‘At this juncture, the forces will be acting to disrupt the momentum. Nevertheless, we need to be alert even though this kind of cheap tactic would not hamper India’s progress. Every citizen should stand by the Prime Minister in his endeavours,’‘ he said, recalling Mr. Modi’s remarks that India would track every terrorist and their supporters “beyond their imagination.”

Earlier, Mr. Chiranjeevi said he was deeply moved by the recent terror attack at Pahalgam. He called upon the gathering to observe a two-minute silence in memory of the people who lost their lives in the attack. He conveyed his condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family members.

The Chief Minister praised the efforts of Ms. Sharani in bringing out such a book, which could help individuals, especially the youth, to reframe their thinking and approach challenges with confidence. ‘‘It aligns with our vision of fostering a resilient and forward-thinking society. In fact, the Andhra Pradesh State government is also making efforts to bring in changes in the ‘mindset shift’ of the officials and employees to achieve its goals,’‘ he said.

Mr. Chiranjeevi, sharing his life experiences, said that one should not lose one’s path and goal, and work with determination facing ‘n’ number of ‘D’s — disruptions, distractions, discouragements, disappointments — that come in the way. One should adopt mindset change, and move with a positive approach, he said.

Mr. Narayana, MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao and others were present.
