The Sullurpeta railway station, which was renovated and modernised under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ project, was formally inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in virtual mode, on Thursday.

Sullurpeta is an important station as it connects travellersbound to Sriharikota space centre, Pulicat and Nelapattu bird sanctuaries, Sri City and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation’s (APIIC) industrial estate at Tada.

Union Minister of State for Communication Pemmasani Chandrasekhar took part in the event, along with Sullurpeta MLA Nelavala Vijayasree, Collector S. Venkateswar, Southern Railway Divisional Railway Manager (Chennai) B. Vishwanath Eerya, BJP State vice-president Vakati Narayana Reddy and TDP Tirupati district president G. Narasimha Yadav.
