Trump orders strikes on Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen and issues new warning to Iran

President Donald Trump said he ordered a series of airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, on Saturday, promising to use “overwhelming lethal force” until Iranian-backed Houthi rebels cease their attacks on shipping along a vital maritime corridor. Nine people were killed in strikes after U.S. President Donald Trump announced an attack on the Iran-backed group. Houthi vowed to respond to deadly strikes. “This aggression will not pass without a response, and our Yemeni armed forces are fully prepared to confront escalation with escalation,” the rebels’ political bureau said in a statement

Multiple police personnel injured; man killed in Madhya Pradesh as clashes between groups turn violent 

Multiple police personnel and other officials suffered injuries in a mob attack in Madhya Pradesh’s Mauganj district on Sunday (March 16, 2025) when they went to a village to intervene into a clash between two groups and rescue a man who had been held hostage and later killed, officers said. Local reports and Congress State president Jitu Patwari also claimed that an assistant sub-inspector was also killed in the violence. However, the police are yet to confirm this.

Chief Election Commissioner calls high-level meeting to discuss linking voter ID with Aadhaar
